about

tapacity is a play on words: technology and capacity.

My blog represents my personal attempt to help non-profits increase their knowledge about and capacity to implement technologies, in particular Internet related technologies. The intent is to provide a resource for you to consider rather than expert advice for you to follow blindly.

:: my background

Hi, I am Mark Holmgren and author of tapacity. I have worked for a variety of non-profit organizations over the years — as a CEO, senior staff and as a consultant. I am not really a propellor head, but rather grew my interest of, and knowledge about, technology and the Internet over the years. I have been the project lead or project member on a number of technology and Internet initiatives, including the development of web-based software (online granting and outcomes measurement application, e-pledge application, e-campaign application) and I sat on the Rainbow Coalition Technologies Board of Directors (Canada), which is the collaborative that built Rainbow, a fundraising system for United Ways, used throughout North America. I was also the founder of rainbowHELP, a user self help community on Yahoo.
